About MORGANITE

The beryl family includes some well-known gems, such as Aquamarine and Emerald, and also Morganite.  Sometimes (Controversially) called a "Pink Emerald", Morganite is however a distinct variety of the Beryl Family related to the more famous Emerald and Aquamarine variety.  The Gem is quite rare attributing to the value and can be found in Larger specimens than emerald due to its formation and crystal configuration.

Ranging in colour from perfectly clear (often called Goshenite) to Deep pink colour, the gem has a large range of colour attributed to Manganese infusion from the surrounding rock during the gem's formation.

Attributed to its rarity, Morganite has seen a significant rise in value over the past decade, as well as strong support from brand influence such as Tiffany and Co. and other international high-end Brands.  Since the stone is mined in depleting quantity, Morganite makes an excellent investment gem.

More On Appraisal Certificates

We do not appraise in-house.  Only third party appraisal companies are used for certification and valuation of gems.

Appraisal Certificates are done from accredited appraisers and represent the retail insurance replacement value for an item.  While many companies do appraisals (such as jewelry stores), it is important to receive an appraisal by a group that does not involve themselves in the buying or selling of Gems or jewelry pieces as to avoid any conflict of interest.  We typically use Multiple accredited appraisal companies (with Global Offices) for the Jewelry industry, located in the downtown Toronto area or surrounding region.  We also have a number of Certificates from EGL a global appraisal company to the gem industry whose Toronto offices have since closed down.

An appraisal will assign a monetary value to a Gem or piece of jewelry and is ultimately subjective based on the appraiser's criteria for grading and experience.  For this reason, only accredited and experienced appraisers are used to evaluate stones.  An appraisal is not an indication of your buying power, that depends on your ability to "wheel and deal" as well as your source of supply and ability to buy in parcel lots or in bulk.
